God Bless America & Mickey D’s

January 24, 2009

Look what I saw while waiting for the metro the other day — an ad for McDonald’s Nouveau p’tit Wrap — fried chicken, BBQ sauce, and what appears to be tiny shreds of iceberg lettuce, all wrapped up in a flour tortilla!

I nearly jumped off of the platform I was so excited.

This makes me hopeful for so many reasons. McDonald’s (or McDo’s, as they’re known around here) being the marketing geniuses that they are, I’m sure that they must have done some sort of research before launching this Holy Trinity of American goodness (BBQ, Tex-Mex, and something fried) on Paris — which surely means that I’m gonna be able to find BBQ sauce on the shelves of the Casino supermarket soon, and I’m also thinking — quite selfishly here — that more people are gonna want my Cowgirl Tacos!

As for fried chicken, my God, what’s not to like?

First, Obama, and now this. Things are certainly starting to turn around.

I’ve been waiting YEARS for a decent Tex-Mex in Paris, or even a Taco Bell. For some reason noone wants to do the franchise, even though a Taco Bell would make better food (price/quality ratio) than any other Tex-Mex in Paris in my opinion.
