Road Trip: Versailles

Yesterday we went for a walk in the forest in nearby Louveciennes, between Versailles and St. Germain-en-Laye, and I couldn’t believe the snow (we had lots of snow the day before in Paris, but it didn’t stick).

Rose played, I made snowballs and threw them to her like tennis balls (which she couldn’t find), and after nearly three hours of tromping through the forest, we decided to get a hot chocolate.

Or I did, at least.

Xavier suggested that we go to Versailles, which was sort of on the way home. There, we found a cute little patisserie and salon de the, Gaulupeau, which served up the yummiest, thickest chocolat chaud.

I know I’ve been complaining a lot about the cold weather around here, but when it snows, I don’t mind at all. Even though snow often means a cold nose, frozen toes, and wet gloves, it also means hot chocolate.
